AYSOF: Bauchi-Based 3SC FC Whips Inuwa Yahaya FC 3-1 To Qualify For Dubai Int’l Tourney

The 3SC Football Academy Bauchi, on Friday, whipped Inuwa Yahaya Boys Football club of Gombe by 3-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) Bauchi, to clinch the ticket for an international competition in Dubai, UAE, in October.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 3SC FC defeated their adversaries in the finals of the Annual Nigeria’s President National under-20 male youth football tournament tagged: “NEDC AYSOF 2022” in Bauchi 

Aliyu Mohammed of 3SC opened scoring for his side in the 19th minute of the match and Hassan Mohammed made it two in the 23rd minute, before the Inuwa Yahaya boys pulled back one in the 36th minute, through Saddique Bappa.

In the 55th minute, 3SC’s Harun Nura made it three, to the distress of their opponents who had to settle for a 1-3 scoreline, NAN reports.

Mr Mohammmed Labaran, head coach, Inuwa Yahaya boys FC, said in a post-match interview that his boys  were very disciplined in defence in the early stages of the match and even made a few incursions into the vital area but without success.

He appreciated God for making his boys come second, saying, “It was a wonderful match; normally you must have a winner it could be you or them, so no course for alarm we will win some other time,” he said. 

Musa Garba, head coach of the winning 3SC FC, also expressed his appreciation to God for giving them the opportunity of winning the competition as that would encourage the players.

At the end of the finals, the Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, donated the cash price of N700,000 to  3SC FC, the winner, N500,000 to the Inuwa Yahaya Boys FC, the runners-up, and N300,000 to third placed Haske FC Bauchi.

The President of AYSOF and the main organising Committee of the tournament, Dr Ahmed Lawal, explained that the tournament was meant to discover budding talents, as well as promote peace and unity in the country.

He said such a tournament would expose the young one to the world of sports and provide them with opportunities for international exposure, explaining that the winner would be representing Nigeria at an international competition billed for Dubai in October 2021.

Lawal commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, Minister, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, among other stakeholders, for supporting the tournament.(NAN)
