Bandits Attack Villages in Taraba, ‘Kidnap 40’ Locals

At least 40 locals were reportedly kidnapped from various villages in Bali Local Government of Taraba State.

According to residents, bandits numbering about 200 on motorcycles attacked the villages and kidnapped the locals. The terrorists also rustled cattle.

Ali Dauda, a resident of Garba-Chede town told Aminiya, a Hausa version of Daily Trust newspaper, that hundreds of refugees from the villages attacked by the bandits are fleeing to their town.

Combined Forces Neutralise Bandits in Bauchi Forest

According to him, the security forces did not go to the area, but hunters and vigilantes confronted the attackers.

Some of the villages attacked include Garbatau, Mirimidankol, Gidan Hamidu, Dangiwa, Nayinawa, Gima Town, Bantaguru, ShaDussa and Bose Town.

Usman Abdullahi, spokesperson for Taraba Police Command confirmed the attack but said only 14 people were reported to be kidnapped.
