Bauchi Govt Berates SATBIA Management For Poor Operations

Bauchi State Government has accused the management of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi, SATBIA, of deliberate poor management of the operations of the airport to cause blame on the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed.

Hamisu Mu’azu Shira, Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Hamisu Mu’azu Shira in a press statement issued to journalists in Bauchi, said the state government will not hesitate to take action against the management of the airport if it fails to live up to expectations.

He said the current airport management should take full responsibility for the maintenance of the airport as the state government will not tolerate any excuse for poor operations that will affect its integrity and image.

“We have uncovered a deliberate plan by the Management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi to sabotage the good efforts of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State through poor operations. You will recall that, in the last couple of weeks, Bauchi airport has witnessed frequent cancellations and postponements of flights, long unnecessary delays as a result of the inability of the management of the airport to maintain it effectively.”

“Lights are rampantly switched off when airlines are about to take off and this would not be acceptable as it will cause blame to our Governor who is doing his best to see the progress and development of all the sectors of the state’s economy.”
