At least two persons were feared dead while the residence of District Head of Kuareta was burnt down in a deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe state.
Kuareta, a community of about 20 kilometres from the state capital Damaturu, came under heavy attack by Boko Haram insurgents in the early hours of Sunday when election results were collated for the Yobe East Senatorial by-election.
A security source who confirmed the incident to WikkiTimes on condition of anonymity said the insurgents burnt down the district head house and killed two people at a collection centre located along Damaturu-Maiduguri road.
The State Security Adviser, Major-General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), confirmed that the attack on Sunday.
WikkiTimes gathered that the residents of Damaturu, the state capital have been carrying out their normal businesses despite the news of the attack.
