The Bauchi state Governorship election petition tribunal has dismissed the governorship elections petition filed by the All Progressives Congress against the victory of Bala Muhammad of the People’s Democratic Party PDP.
Delivering the judgement in Bauchi, the chairman of the tribunal Justice Salihu Shuaibu dismissed the petition filed by the immediate past governor Muhammad Abubakar and the APC challenging the victory of Mr. Muhammad in the 2019 polls.
Justice Salihu Shuaibu held that the prayers by the petitioner on the need for the court to nullify the election for alleged over voting and election malpractice in Tafawa, Bogoro and Bauchi local government areas lacked merit and therefore should be downsized as lacking in merit.
The tribunal dismissed twenty seven out of the thirty three evidences tendered by the petitioner.
Meanwhile hundreds of supporters of governor Bala Muhammad took the street of Bauchi metropolis to celebrate the victory.
