Court Fixes Date for Continuation of Offa Robbery Case

An Ilorin High court presided over by Justice Halimat Saleeman has fixed february 19th and 20th this year for continuation of hearing in the case of criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery and Culpable homicide proffered against five accused persons over Offa bank robbery.

The Five accused persons ; Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salaudeen Azeez and Niyi Ogundiran are standing trial before the court over their alleged involvement in the April 5, 2018 robbery in offa , kwara state during which 30 persons were killed.

Led in evidence by profesor wahab Egbrwole SAN ,the first prosecution witness, a Police Inspector and an exhibit keeper with kwara state police command
Yusuf Dauda told the court that the District Police Officer in charge of Offa Division CSP Danjuma Adams brought some exhibits to him in Ilorin for safe keep.

He explained that subsequently the DPO CSP Danjuma Adamu also brought the accused persons for interrogation before the exhibits were labeled.

The prosecution witness further told the court that the items brought by the DPO Offa division, CSP Danjuma Adamu include, two expended 5.6mm life ammunition, 39 expended live ammunition, 4 expended 5.6mm live ammunition, and one 9mm live ammunition.

Others are 4 used bullets, one live 5.6mm live ammunition , one cartridge , one Mercedes Benz car, and a Lexus Jeep bearing a sticker with the inscription name , Saraki among other exhibits.

In his own testimony another prosecution witness, Etila Hassan attached to the inspector general of police Intelligence Response team said , all the accused persons were arrested at different locations in Kwara state.

He noted that during interrogation all the accused persons admitted to have participated in the robbery at Offa local government area. (RNA)
