A Bauchi based business magnate and proprietor of the Ramadan printing and publishing company Alhaji Garba Noma has donated the sum of N1 million to the Bauchi state Muslims coalition on COVID-19.

Noma announced the donation on Monday when officials of the coalition led by its convener Professor Salisu Shehu visited him in his residence in Bauchi as part of their efforts to source for money for purchase of food items that will be distributed to the needy in this trying period.

The business magnate explained that the donation became imperative in view of the deplorable condition of the less privileged people in the society.

He further pledged to work towards linking the coalition with other well meaning people within and outside the state in order to seek their support in that direction.

According to him, the time has come when communities should reduce their total reliance on government by joining hands together to improve their well-beings.

Earlier, the convener of the coalition Professor Salisu Shehu said the visit was to formally inform major stakeholders in the state on the formation of the coalition and its mission and vision.
