The women were among the 40 nominees considered for chairmanship and deputy roles across the 20 local councils of the state.

The governor submitted their names to the Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA) for screening and confirmation.

Takko was nominated to serve as chairperson for Bauchi local government. Until her nomination, Zainab served as commissioner for commerce and industries in the last lap of the first tenure of Governor Bala Abdulkadir.
