A four-year-old child, Abubakar Sani also called Mussaddiq, has been confirmed dead in a fire incident at a residence in Yakasai quarters of Kano, the capital of Kano State.
Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, the spokesperson for Kano State Fire Service, who confirmed the incident in a statement in Kano, explained that the late Mussaddiq was playing with matches when he accidentally lit the house.
“One boy by the name Abubakar Sani popularly known as ( MUSADDIQ ) about 4 years old was trapped. He was rescued unconsciously and conveyed together with his Father to Murtala Muhammad Special Hospital for medical attention. later, the victim was confirmed dead by a doctor, ” the statement added.
Abdullahi noted that the one-storey building was slightly burnt but personnel of the Fire Service extinguished the fire before it escalated to the entire building.
