Gombe NYSC Coordinator Urges Corps Members To Be Good Ambassadors

The Gombe State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Ada Imoni, has urged members to work assiduously to be good representatives of their families and academic institutions in the communities they will be posted to.

Imoni stated this on Monday at the debriefing of the 2021 Batch B Stream II Corps members at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Amada, Akko Local Government Area (LGA).

The coordinator said: “You have been equipped for the task of nation-building in camp and I am optimistic that you will make us proud at your various places of primary assignment,” she said.

Imoni admonished them not to lobby for placement but accept their posting in good faith bearing in mind that the one-year mandatory service is for national development.

The coordinator also urged them to be disciplined and not to be rude to their employers and members of their host community.

“Remember you are representing the NYSC, your families and your various institutions,“ she said.

Imoni advised corps members to strive to leave lasting legacy in their host communities by initiating and executing viable projects.

She implored them to continue with the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development training in order to be masters of their chosen skills, adding that the training they got on camp was not conclusive.  (NAN)
