Journalists were denied entrance into the High Court Complex, venue of the Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which is expected to deliver its judgment today.
When the journalists got to the last gate leading into the premises of the tribunal, security men told them that the secretary of the tribunal, Hafsat Kings had instructed that journalists not be allowed inside.
The leader of the security personnel at the gate showed a list of accredited media organizations for the coverage of the judgement proceedings of the tribunal, saying only journalists from NTA, Channels and AIT would be given access.
Efforts to convince them proved abortive. The operatives told the barred journalists that only the secretary could give orders.
Following a phone call to the secretary, she ordered that the correspondent for the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) be allowed in.
