Nasarawa State Govt. seeks traditional institution’s collaboration to end polio

Nasarawa State Government says it will continue to collaborate with traditional institutions and other stakeholders in the effort to end polio and other deadly diseases in the state.

Dr Mohammed Usman, the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Primary HealthCare Development Agency (NSPHCDA) made this known on Thursday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III.

Usman said the visit was to appreciate the monarch for his support to government health programmes in his domain.

He added that “we are here to also solicit for your continued support to ensure the success of polio immunisation and other health programmes in your area.”

The chairman urged communities in the state to embrace government health programmes and appealed to parents to embrace the campaign against polio by presenting their children for vaccination against the killer diseases.

The emir commended the chairman for the visit and pledged continued support for efforts to eradicate polio and other diseases.

He also promised to mobilise his subjects to support the state government’s health policies and programmes to achieve Universal Health Coverage.  (NAN)
