Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has assured of his administration’s resolve to continue providing succour to Orphans and vulnerable children in the state.
Bala Mohammed gave the assurance yesterday while speaking at Launching he organized for the Orphans and vulnerable children to mark his two years stewardship at the Ramat House.
“Today, the 29th of May which we are celebrating our two years anniversary, this year we are celebrating with a lot of empathy and sympathy both to ourselves and the people of Bauchi who have given us this mandate”, Bala said.
According to him, there is no other thing his administration will do to show appreciation to the people of Bauchi than to celebrate the two eventful years with the Orphans and the vulnerable children because his government cares for everybody.
“We want to assure our Orphans that you are no longer Orphans, I and my dear wife and the government of Bauchi cares for you so much in such a way that we will not relent in making sure that your plights are catered for”, the Governor said.
Bala called on governments at various levels to be mindful of the fact that they owe the responsibility to take care of Orphans and Vulnerable children in their respective domains.
“We have to know that this group of people needs help and if we help them God will be pleased with us, let us fear God”, the Governor said.
Bala who appealed to those unleashing terror on Nigeria in terms of banditry, kidnapping and all other vices to desist from doing so, reminded them of the presence of Orphans and vulnerable children who are in need of care.
According to Governor Bala: “they should know that at least we have a responsibility on them, if you think you don’t have it and that is why you are engaging in crime, you should know that there are those who don’t have parents and that we should be parents to all of them”.
“That’s why we hold this occasion as a symbolic celebration that today we need a solemn assessment of ourselves so that we will know where we are coming from and where we are going”, the Governor said.
Bala who thanked the management of the Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable children Agency (BASOVCA) for piloting effectively, the Affairs of the agency urged philanthropists and the well to do in the society to help the Orphans.
Earlier speaking, the state commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hajara Jibrin Gidado, thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for making adequate provision for women, Orphans and Vulnerable members of the society in the state
