Plateau JNI Debunks Rumored Protest Plan

The Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam has rejected a rumor going around that protest match with Jos’ central mosque as its take-off point.

The JNI in a statement on Tuesday its Director of ICT and NGO matters, Barr Lawal Ishaq distance itself from the purported protest circular being shared on social media platforms.

“It has come to the attention of JNI Plateau State under the leadership of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Wase, Dr. Muhammad Sambo Abdullahi, that some faceless individuals are announcing a purported “protest match” with the Jos Central Mosque as the take-off point.

The messages which have gone virile in social media, notably WhatsApp are not true. JNI as the custodian of the Jos Central Mosque has not permitted any individual or groups to carry out any form of activities within its premises.

JNI is firmly committed to ensuring that lasting peace is restored to Jos and the environs. Therefore, it is calling on all citizens to observe the various curfews imposed by the government on Jos North, Jos South, and Bassa local government areas. All should please disregard that message in circulation as nothing but a handiwork of mischief makers and crisis merchants” Barr Lawal said.
