The newly elected house of representatives member from Bauchi local government Federal Constituency Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has pledged to support President Muhammadu Buhari who was in the early lead in the last Saturday’s presidential election for effective execution of his capital projects.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after he was declared winner on Tuesday, Abdullahi, promised that unlike other law makers who sabotaged the president during the last regime, he would support the execute arm to bring the desired dividends of democracy to citizens.
He said youth and women were instrumental to his victory despite being in a party that virtually has no strong structures in the state assuring that if sworn in, he would sponsor bills that will impact positively on the lives of youth and women.
The newly elected Lawmaker said People’s Redemption Party is in full support of President Buhari in view of his integrity and zero tolerance to corruption.
Our correspondent reports that the PRP candidate scored 69, 000 votes to beat his opponents of the All Progressive Congress Sabo Mohammed who got 53, 000 votes and People’s Democratic Party candidate Ali Garu who polled 43, 000 votes respectively.
