Thugs Disrupt PDP Meeting in Gombe, Injure 5

Yet-to-be-identified thugs on Saturday evening, besieged the meeting premises of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe State, injuring five stalwarts and vandalising other valuables at the residence of Salisu Abdulaziz who hosted the meeting.

WikkiTimes gathered that Abdulaziz otherwise known as Mr B, had invited women and youths to his Jekadafari residence in Gombe for a meeting before they were waylaid.

Addressing newsmen on Monday, Abdulaziz said the thugs attacked women, youths and men attending the meeting.

“They vandalised my house, broke my gate and all electrical bulbs, as well as my windows. We were lucky that the police were quick to intervene and calm the situation,” he said.

Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, spokesman for Gombe Police Command confirmed the incident, saying at least five people were injured. According to him, the injured people had been evacuated to the hospital. But the police were yet to arrest anyone in connection to the invasion, he said, adding the command is still investigating the matter.
