A seven-year-old kano boy who needed N100,000 for his eye surgery has been scheduled for treatment following a fundraising campaign amplified by WikkiTimes.
A source close to the family, Zubayr as simply identified, had on Friday initiated a fundraising campaign via Twitter. According to him, the minor who hails from Karaye in Kano State is suffering from Retinoblastoma, a visual ailment common among underage children.
“A 7-year-old boy Zakari currently at AKTH is suffering from retinoblastoma and urgently needs funds for his treatment. His parents are without a phone. Came all the way from karaye. This video was taken by a friend of mine who works there.” Zubayr had tweeted.
Following WikkiTimes’ report, Zubayr announced that the fundraising was successful as the required amount was raised. He also thanked WikkiTimes for its report.
WikkiTimes also spoke to Treat The Vulnerable Families In Nigeria Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that initiated the fundraising.
