Bauchi governor allocates N100 million, to pay retirees

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has set aside 100 million naira for the payment of outstanding gratuities of the retired civil servants in the state.

Presenting cheque today to some of the beneficiaries, the state head of civil service, Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa explained that, the payment covered retirees from state and local government.

Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa who said the commencement of the payment of the gratuities was in fulfillment of the governor’s campaign promises, indicated that state retirees will get their 2011 payment while LG retirees will receive that of 2010.

The head of service implored those that are yet to be part of the beneficiaries to be patience as the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed was determined to alleviate the sufferings of retired workers in the state.

Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa who assured that the payment of the gratuities will be a continuous process, said the government was considering another segments of payments.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen, expressed gratitude to governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the payment of the gratuities and appealed for its sustenance.

They pledged their support and loyalty to the present administration and prayed Allah to give the governor the wisdom to fulfill all his campaign promises for the well being of people of the state.
