Bauchi Governor constitutes Board to address water scarcity

Bauchi state Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has approved the composition of a governing board for the Bauchi State Water Board as part of efforts to address the problem of water supply in the state.

In a statement signed by the Governor’s Spokesman, Dr Ladan Salihu indicates that the board will be chaired by Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam.

WikkiTimes reports that the residents of Bauchi metropolis have been consistently marred by water scarcity especially during the dry season.

The statement reiterated the commitment of the state government to address water scarcity in the state.

Members of the board include the current General Manager of the Board, Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Water Resources as well as Engr. Usman Aliyu M Shira, and Engr. Garba Aliyu Bagel.

Others are Alhaji Hafiz Maiauduga to represent the State Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture and Mrs Lydia M Shehu to represent consumers.

According to the statement, the board is expected to rise to and address the problem of acute water supply in the state.
