According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the duo allegedly boarded a motorcycle in the Awala area and, upon reaching Yelwan Kagadama, brutally assaulted the rider using a stick.

Acting on the directive of Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa, the police cracked down on criminal elements in the Yelwa Axis, leading to the arrest of five suspects, including an 18-year-old girl, for charges ranging from criminal conspiracy to armed robbery.

The suspects, identified as Umar Saidu, Florence Jeremiah, Sani Abdullahi, Bello Adamu, and Adamu Musa, were allegedly terrorising the Yelwa axis. The core incident leading to their arrest unfolded on November 13, 2023, when Sani Abdullahi and Florence Jeremiah executed their plan to snatch a motorcycle. The young girl confessed to her role in the crime, revealing their intention to steal the motorcycle as schemed with her boyfriend.

It has been exposed that Sani Abdullahi had involvement with Umar Saidu, Adamu Musa, Bello Adamu, and other at-large suspects in robbing residents. Victims included Murtala Yusuf, Hamidu Abdu, and Ibrahim James, whose valuables were stolen, and some were subsequently sold.

The shocking revelation unfolded as two of the arrested suspects admitted to benefiting financially from the crime, using the proceeds to purchase clothes.

The arrests shed light on a disturbing pattern of criminal activity in the Yelwa area, prompting a decisive response from law enforcement.
