Bauchi Speaker warns workers against indiscipline, corruption

The Speaker of the  Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Sulaiman, on Monday  warned workers against acts of indiscipline, corruption and absenteeism.

Sulaiman, who gave the warning while addressing staff members of the State Assembly in Bauchi, said that indiscipline and corruption were the major causes of bad governance.

He said the new leadership would not condone indiscipline and all other vices capable of undermining the integrity of the assembly.

However, according to him, the administration is ready to work with everyone irrespective of affiliation.

He said there is need for cooperation, loyalty and dedication from the staff.

“The new leadership is ever ready to bring innovations and welfare package that would stimulate productivity.”

Sulaiman expressed commitment to the enactment of sound laws and legislation that would help in uplifting the lives and well-being of the people of Bauchi.

The speaker also pledged to enhance working relationship with members of the house.

He added that the 9th Assembly under his leadership would also work together with the executive for the benefit of people of the state.

According to him,  the move becomes imperative with a view to ensuring togetherness among members of the house for speedy passage of bills to the best interest of the state.

Responding on behalf of the assembly workers , the Deputy Clerk of the House, Alhaji Lamara Chinade,  assured of full cooperation with the new leadership to improve the effectiveness of the assembly and safeguard the integrity of the house.(NAN)
