Represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Mr. Ayuba Ishaya, Barrister Yakubu Kirfi stressed the need for all stakeholders to give more support to the sector for socio-economic development of the country.

Some  of the participants who spoke at the session appealed to the state government to collaborate with relevant bodies for the improvement of its agricultural activities.

WikkiTimes reports that the state in recent years has performed relatively poor in agriculture, which experts say is linked to lack of government support.

There are several government schemes such as the Anchor Borrowers meant to support farmers with resources and modern ideas to boost food production, but such schemes are marred by corruption, poor implementation, and inadequate sustainability measures to allow them to linger.
