Bauchi To Hosts 550 Participants For National Qur’anic Recitation Competition 

Bauchi State is due to host 550 candidates for the 36th edition of the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition from the 36 states of the federation. 

The competition which is a yearly event is expected to start next Saturday and is being organised by the Bauchi State Government in collaboration with Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto. as part of preparations for the event, Governor Bala Abdulkadir vetoed N100,000,000 to the local organising committee. 

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed already has constituted a 57-man-member local organising committee last Saturday.

He explained the money government approved for the competition is meant to cover procurement of prices and logistics.

Bala Mohammed said the competition will encourage memorization of the Holy  Qur’an among Muslim youths.

He refuted rumours making the rounds that his administration has a clandestine plan to scrab Tsangaya Schools in the state but insisted that something must be done to trim the rate at which Almajiris patrolled streets and houses begging food to settle the conflict in their tommies. 

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and a former Grand Khadi of Bauchi State, Khadi Abdullahi Yakubu Marafa assured of their commitment towards a successful hosting of the event.
