COVID 19: Muslims coalition distributes food stuffs to 1, 500 households in Bauchi

Bauchi State Muslims Coalition against Coronavirus hascommenced the distribution of palliatives to 1,500 households across the stateto cushion the effect of the dreaded pandemic.

Shehu who said that the beneficiaries of the palliativeswere tracked using geographical information, GIS assured that the committeewill distribute the palliatives irrespective of religious differences.

explained that the coalition purchased food items worth N5, 000 that will begiven to each of the selected 1, 500 households.

“In each bag, there are rice, maize flour, spaghetti,beans, groundnut oil, maggi, salt and matches packaged in each bags.” Hesaid.

The emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu whoflagged off the distribution at his palace lauded the coalition for the gesturesaying it would bring succour to the needy in the state especially in thisperiod of partial lockdown in the state.

He observed that many people in the state do not take thepandemic serious and ignore the social distancing order urging the coalition toalso sensitize people on the need for them to adopt preventive measures againstthe disease.

“I commend the Bauchi state Muslims coalition on COVID19 for sourcing the money, purchasing the food stuffs and distributing to theneedy irrespective of their ethnic and religious groups.

“I advise wealthy individuals to donate generously tothe coalition so that more people will benefit from the gesture”, he said.
