Disquiet in Bauchi as Governor Bala is hospitalised in London ahead supreme court verdict

Anxiety has heightened in Bauchi state following media reports credited to top government officials that governor Bala Mohammed has been hospitalized in London ahead of tomorrow’s judgment between him and his closest contender in the 2019 guber election, ex-governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Muktar Gidado had in a statement yesterday disclosed that the governor sends message of hope for his supporters from a London Hospital.

“I am in hospital in London but we strongly believe that Allah is sufficient for us and He is Able and Capable to give us victory! Cheers, success shall be ours Insha Allah! Cheers to you all”,the governor had said.

Governor Bala also vowed to take drastic action that will get rid of persons he described as saboteurs and ungrateful people from his government.

“Many unexpected opponents and opposition have emerged to pull my administration down through the Supreme Court, and I am sure that they will fail”, Daily trust had reported.

However, the Supreme Court in Abuja which had initially billed to deliver final judgment and put to rest the legal battle between Bala Mohammed of the People’s Democratic Party and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the opposition All Progressives Congress has adjourned the case to Tuesday,14th January.

According to Daily trust report, “reasons for the adjournment of the case is still sketchy as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad was reported to have left the chambers over the congestion in the Supreme Court hall.”
