Gunmen Kill 4, Set Monarch’s House on Fire in Plateau

A group of armed men have killed four persons in Dungwel village, Plateau State, while mercilessly setting the monarch’s house on fire on fateful Sunday evening.

Shedrack Gambo, a relative of the victims, revealed that not only did lives perish in the attack, but some also suffered varying degrees of injuries.

Gambo narrated, “They all died in the attack and others were also injured in the incident. The community is presently in shock and grieving. Please, pray for us.”

The Military Taskforce’s spokesperson, Captain Oya James, confirmed the horrifying incident in Jos on Monday. He disclosed that the assailants seemed to have a specific target – the village head.

As the troops reached the scene, it became clear that the attackers were inquiring about the village head’s residence. Witnessing the unfolding chaos, residents frantically fled for safety.

Disturbingly, the bandits, in their violent spree, set the village head’s house ablaze, with family members trapped inside.

Meanwhile, Captain James emphasised the critical role played by soldiers, stating, “If not for the intervention of the soldiers, the wives of the village head and his children who were locked inside the house would have died.”
