Russia vs Ukraine: First Batch Of Nigerian Evacuees Arrives Abuja

The first batch of Nigerians numbering 416 from Romania, have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja via a Max Air flight on Friday morning.

This was disclosed by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) where most of the evacuees are students who fled to Romania following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

NIDCOM stated that they arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja at 7:10 am from Bucharest, Romania.

WikkiTimes had on Wednesday reported that the Federal Government has stated that the first batch of Nigerians Evacuees will arrive home on Thursday.

The flight was however delayed as the Federal Government cited a hitch in preparing passengers for the check-in process.

Asides from Romania, the pickup flights will evacuate Nigerians from other neighboring countries like Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary, which are expected to arrive in the coming days.
