‘She Could Give Birth Anytime’ — Husband Of Kidnapped Pregnant Woman In Zamfara Speaks

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped Ramatu Gusau, the pregnant wife of Sanusi Mohammed Gusau, the chairman of Zamfara State Local Government Employees.

Gusai said the gunmen raided his home around 01:00 am on Tuesday in his Damba Gusau residence. 

“The gunmen broke into my house through the fence and smashed the door. I hid inside somewhere before they could enter my room,” he told WikkiTimes. “They searched my houses thoroughly but could not see anyone except my pregnant wife, Ramatu. They took her away.”

Gusau said Ramatu, his wife, can deliver the baby any moment from now. “She could give birth anytime from now because her expected delivery date is in this week,” he said, adding the gunmen are yet to contact him.

As of press time, Mohammed Shehu, the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) neither responded to calls nor messages sent to him.

Recently, the Zamfara State government okayed the use of firearm arms by the residents to confront the waylaying gunmen terrorising them. Amin Masari, the state governor through Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, the commissioner for Information announced the distribution of 500 forms to 19 emirates, encouraging residents to obtain the form to get their gun license. In addition, the police authority in the state was also informed about the decision.
