‘Why I Killed My Customer’ – Bauchi Man Confesses

Abdullahi Ibrahim, a resident of Unguwar Aliko Dan Iya Misau town in Bauchi State and the suspected killer of the 18-year-old boy, Umar Isma’il, explained why he murdered the victim.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that residents of Misau had been thrown into despair following the death of Isma’il after his lifeless body was dumped in the area.

In his confessional statement at the Misau division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the suspect said he killed the boy in self-defence after the deceased attacked him with a knife in his room.

Ibrahim, who is a Veterinary Doctor, was arrested Saturday night by the officers of the command in his residential house where he allegedly murdered the boy.

He said he met the deceased on Wednesday when the latter came to their house to buy day-old chickens.

“He came to our house on Wednesday asking for the owner of the chicks shop. I came out and met him and he told me that he was sent to buy chicks I told him that I didn’t have but I would enquire from colleagues.

The suspect said the deceased came back on Thursday and bought three chicks at two hundred naira each. “I collected the money and went to Malam Abba’s shop and bought the chicks, I went to my house with them. I was in the toilet bathing because I entered the house in the evening, and I didn’t lock my door”.

“As I came out, I saw him holding a knife near the place where I kept my changes. I tried escaping but he was pushing towards me and I called for help but no one heard me. So he advanced towards me and we started wrestling and in the process of wrestling I was trying to seize the knife but he was trying to attack me with it and I injured him and he fell on the ground”, said Abdullahi.

The suspect who said it was never intentional, stressed that he killed the victim in self-defence and his confessional statement was not made under any dures.

Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abubakar Gabdo told WikkiTimes that the suspect has been paraded at the State Command today Sunday.
