ATBU Matriculates Over 3000 Students, Declares War On Cultism


The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, ATBU, has matriculated over 3,000 students for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul’aziz, disclose this to journalists at the end of the matriculation ceremony at the Gubi Campus of the University. 
The Vice-Chancellor said the University will not hesitate to sanction any student found wanting of cultism as contained in the relevant extant laws of the University. 
He said the Governing Council and Management of the University is fully committed to providing and maintaining peace on the two campuses of the University for smooth teaching and learning. 
Professor Abdul’aziz pleaded with both students and staff of the University to be agents of peace and put all complaints and grievances they might have through appropriate channels for adjudication. 
He said  ATBU has zero-tolerance for all kinds of vices and anti-social conduct such as cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse indecent dressing.
 Professor Abdul’aziz said the University through TETFUND and other donors, is doing its best to ensure an acceptable standard in the infrastructure and other educational facilities needed for productive research and teaching, as much as their lean finances permit.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the students to support the university to archive its lofty goal of transforming them into job creators, not job seekers.

Professor Abdul’aziz advised the students to familiarize themselves with the do’s and donts of the environment to avoid un-ceremonial graduation and also pay due to attention to their studies so as to archive their goals.
