Bala is the best governor Bauchi ever had—BAHA Deputy Speaker

Hon. Danlami Kawule, the deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly said the incumbent governor of Bauchi state; Bala Mohammed is the best governor the state had ever produced in recent memory.

Kawule in an exclusive interview with WikkiTimes said “the present governor is the best governor we ever had in Bauchi state, because he is the most experienced of all the governors Bauchi ever produced.

“Remember; he was a journalist, an administrator, technocrat who worked in various capacities; as a civil servant, senator, minister and now a substantive elected governor of our dear state”

Hon. Kawule said Bala’s experience and his love for the state was his major motivation in working hard to rebuild the state and restore its lost glory.

“I’m not saying this because I’m close to the governor, I’m saying this because as a law maker, I have worked with many governors in the state, I can tell you that Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has stand out; he’s just different”, Kawule added.

Kawule who is the member, representing Zungur Galambi at the State House of Assembly said despite testing positive for coronavirus, the governor has been working assiduously to address the numerous problems in the state.

“Even while in isolation, his thinking is how to develop the state in terms of infrastructure, agriculture, human capital development and welfare for our civil servants, youths and women”, he said.

He described the governor as his personal mentor and father, adding “Bala won the hearts of the masses in Bauchi state because of his political and administrative exposure, Bauchi people reposed confidence in him that he will deliver, and thank God, the people are beginning to reap what they have sown”, said Kawule.

The lawmaker who commended Governor Bala for carrying out numerous developmental projects across the state, urged his constituents and the entire people of Bauchi state to pray fervently for the Governor’s quick recovery to enable him continue to “deliver dividends of democracy”.

The Deputy Speaker also dismissed as untrue, insinuations by some people that state legislatures are usually rubber stamp to any government.

“We are not rubber stamps; we are not rubber stamps because this is just a saying of people that are outside the legislative business. You know, people say when you are outside a system you feel you know it better.

According to Kawule, “when the legislators pay necessary attention to Government decisions, people feel maybe it is what government need that the assembly do at all times  thereby describing them as rubber stamp, but that is not true.

“What is really happening is that the requirements of the government have always been what is needed by the people of the state.

“So, that is why the more the legislators agreed on it, people will say that we are just rubber stamp—they will not look into it and see its benefit, they will just start condemning the members of the assembly”, the lawmaker explained.

Kawule insisted that the Assembly had several instances when it rejected government pleas, “especially when we critically observed that what the government wants is against the interest of our respective constituents”, he insists.
