Bauchi commissioners, their likely portfolios according to their CVs (1)

As Bauchi state governor Bala Mohammed prepares to celebrate 100 days in office, his commissioners’ designate have already been screened by the state House of Assembly.

WikkiTimes has exclusively obtained the CVs of all the nominated commissioners.

In this series, we shall highlight key information on each of the nominees based on the CVs submitted to the state House.

Most of the CVs in possession of WikkiTimes have no copies of certificates attached and some are without referees—making it difficult for the state House to contact the referees and validate claims made in the CVs.

Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa

Dr. Gamawa holds a Master’s and Doctorate degree in law from Harvard Law School at Harvard University and teaches Ethics and Professional Responsibility; Social Justice and Public Interest Law; and Public International Law at Baze University in Abuja.

In a seven paged CV submitted to the House, Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa is described as an astute public commentator on BBC, VOA, DW and has earned recognition among Hausa listeners of the media platforms.

His CV suggests referees are only available on request and there are no copies of credentials attached to it. Although there are other legal practitioners in the list, is Dr. Gamawa likely to occupy justice ministry as his CV indicates?

Auwal Mohammed Jatau

In a two paged CV, Auwal Mohammed Jatau from Zaki local government area was a onetime majority leader of Bauchi State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 and PDP governorship candidate in 2015. He also served as Speaker, Bauchi state House of Assembly in 2003.

A terrible mistake appeared on his date of birth, making it cloudy to ascertain whether he was born in 1968 or 1967. His CV contains no referees and copies of his certificates. Jatau was a former tutor, School of Nursing, Bauchi state. Would he man ministry of health as his CV suggests?

Abdulkadir Ibrahim (Chikasoron Bauchi)

Born on the 15th of June, 1962, Abdulkadir, in a five paged CV was a onetime Bauchi state head of service during Yuguda’s administration. He shares the same LGA with the state governor—Alkaleri.  Abdulkadir Ibrahim holds masters degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja. Having a traditional title Chikasoron Bauchi, Ibrahim also served as chief of staff, government house Bauchi in 2014.

His CV suggests Ibrahim is a well credentialed personality, but there are no referees and copies of credentials attached to his CV. Political spectators speculate the nominee is likely to be appointed Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
