Properties and farmlands were submerged by a flood that ravaged 13 communities in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State
In addition, WikkiTimes learnt that scores of residents were displaced and bridges connecting to some areas collapsed during heavy rainfall on Monday. Some residents, who spoke to Daily Trust, said the rainfall lasted for hours.

A resident of Mabudi, Emmanuel Nanpak, said many houses were destroyed in his area as well as in Lashel, Turaki, Gehetu, Karkasi Magama and several communities in the area.
Another resident, Nankar Adams, feared the flood would result in “an impending hunger in the locality because several major farmers were affected.”
However, Vincent Venman Bulus, the Langtang South Council Chairman, confirmed the incident on his Facebook page, saying: “It is sad to hear about the flood that swept Mabudi village of Langtang South which resulted in the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.

“I sympathize with the victims of the flood and the entire Mabudi community. It has become necessary for communities, individuals and us as authorities to take proactive measures.”
The affected residents however pleaded with governments at all levels to come to their rescue.
