Kidnapped Zamfara Gov’s Aide Regains Freedom

Ibrahim Ma,aji, Special Adviser on political affairs to Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mattawalle, has regained freedom three days after he was kidnapped by bandits who invaded his residence.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that Ma,aji was abducted by bandits at his residence in Mareri area of Gusau town, the capital of Zamfara in the early hours of last Saturday. At press time, Daily Trust reports that the freed political appointee is receiving medical treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau.

The medium quoted one Mohammed Ahmed, a source close to the family saying, the bandits collected a certain amount of ransom before releasing the victim.

“They were given some money after a series of negotiations and they finally set him free,” he told the platform.
